CEL already...... Missfire
I cant believe it, already Ive got a CEL . I went to Redhill honda and they hooked it up to the machine. They said it was showing an engine missfire on 1,2 and 3. Im not sure if its got anything to do with the Tesco Ron 99 I filled it up with. I put half a tank of BP Ultimate in to try and level it out but I dunno if its gonna help.
Does anyone have any ideas what can cause a missfire? There is more than enough oil, I checked the dipstick and its nearly full. I dont even rag it, im pretty sensible with the driving.

Oh.
Could be many things unfortunately.
Valve clearances being too tight, spark plugs being loose / duff, blovked injectors are common causes.
Unlikely to be fuel but you never know.
Read the link in my signature too.
I presume it's out of warranty?

If it came on shortly after fuelling up it COULD be fuel - I had a CEL (misfires) on-and-off for a couple of months (inc. a rough idle) which just went away...had spent about

Look on the bright side, if you'd bought private or from a dodgy "specialist" you'd have very little comeback. As it is you've git your used car warranty and whatever remains of the manufacturers warranty. The orig 3 year warranty is probably worth more (covers more aspects) than the used car warranty, when was it first registered?
Make sure the dealership records this report of the problem especially if the car is getting near to its 3 year birthday.
Did they reset it and send you on your way?
