CEL :(
As some of you may know I have recently sold my Spoon Ecu since then I put my OEM ECU back in
and noticed the CEL came on I didn't take notice of it as my car is running a DE-CAT and thought the CEL is related to that.
This morning I have fitted my mugen ECU and noticed the CEL switched itself off but on idle some times the CEL would flash and when i go on the move it will switch itself off again until i'm idle
I've only ran the car for 4 miles so is it something I should be worried about or should I carry on to run it in as the ECU could be still in it's learning phase.

I thought the CEL was disabled with the Mugen ECU???
Perhaps the car is idling too slow, close to stalling and flashing the light. Did you do the idle learn when you swapped the ECUs?
Chris.

There is an idle learn procedure that involves leaving the car running until the fan cycles a few time. I can't remember exactly, but a quick search on here or a look in the service manual will explain it.

The Mugen ECU was design for N1 racing in Japan, it has a lot of things disabled compared to the OEM Honda ECU e.g. knock sensor, emission controls etc.
Only run the car on 98+RON from now on. Have you done the Mugen cooling mods, if you haven't I would make them a priority.

The Spoon cooling mods will be fine - these actually run a few degrees cooler than the Mugen.
I'm sure Ultimate or V-Power will be fine, but just remember that the ECU was designed for 100RON.

I have driven my car for about 10 miles today the situation seems to have got worse now i have a solid CEL light
Could it be that when i swapped the ecu i did not disconnect the battery? does it make a difference?
should i disconnect the battery later and reset the ecu or should i get a fault code
input pleasE?
