I'm having problems with my internet so I can't quote, but to steal groova's link, something like this gives you everything you need.

http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/alp-...cde-174bt.html

It's actually got Bluetooth and hands free, but it also features a USB out the back (mine has and is fed through to the passengers storage net (not sure if early models had this) so you can plug an iPhone/iPod or any other USB lead in and will play through the headunit (CD / RADIO UNIT). It's got a jack in the front so you can plug in anything with a 3.5mm headphone socket.

Not sure where your based but I use the audio guys in cambridge that are part of this group - http://www.fourmasterscaraudio.co.uk/

For your needs even the guys at Halfords will be able to sort something out (and that's not something I'd normally say!).

I'm in the same boat as you Seahawk, looking to get rid of the standard HU in mine for something more modern and features. There's lot of options and opinions on this forum. All depends what your "needs", IE IPOD via cable or phone bluetooth to head unit streaming music or making phone calls.

A guy here bought and recommended the Sony DSX-S300BTX - which I thought is a good idea having the ipod concealed into the headunit itself.

But if you want the option of CDs as well as accessing external devices (SD, USB sticks, phones etc), many have suggested the Pioneer deh-8500bt which I'm looking to get as many have raved and complimented the unit.

Whatever you get, the key question can you make it fit in the surrounding for the door to close. The above two recommended they fit nicely apparently

I've just put one of these in as a cheap upgrade, Bluetooth so I can stream from my phone, hands free if needed. Fits fine behind the door. Well pleased with the price and a good improvement over standard. I got a cheap plug and play harness for a fiver, took 10 mins to fit it. Can't use the dash controls but I don't really see much point in them anyway, it's pressing a button still only on the dash with your right and instead of pressing a button on the stereo with your left hand. Horses for courses but that works for me.

I've got a parrot hands free kit that plays all my music via Bluetooth from my iPhone, you also have the option of playing music from a USB and a jack.
Just another option to consider.

I am also looking for a new headunit. I definitely want to keep the dash controls and need BT & USB. I think I will go with an Alpine + Celsus adaptor.

This http://www.caraudiod...e-cde-175r.html £130
Plus this http://www.caraudiod...ol-adaptor.html £34
Plus this http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/inca...e-adaptor.html £5
Plus this http://www.caraudiod...e-kcu-442i.html £20

Will do the job splendidly.

The Pioneer 8500 is also a good bet, the deh80 is way over the £200 budget.

Lovegroova good choice on the 175R! The question beckons Alpine 175R or Pioneer 8500BT? Had my eye on the Pioneer but that Alpine looks great!

You posted two links the same, what item is the £5?
