CD Autochanger
Anyone fitted a non Honda changer to the standard head unit.
Can you please tell me which one how much etc and best location to site, from actually doing it.
thinking about Alpine 620 even fitting it in the void next to the spare with a flap cut in the cover at that side.
Think it might be risky so near the tank ?
Not into Mini Disc
Will go for Lucid back speakers next then fronts.
Thanks in anticipation

I am 99% sure there is no problem fitting either the Alpine 620 or 624 with the OEM head unit - you will, however, need to purchase an interface harness to plug the Alpine unit into the Honda (badged) head unit(which has non-standard plug holes to discourage this sort of thing!)
People in the States have mounted the head unit where you are suggesting - no probs that I am aware of (I have also seen amps in this space).
As an alternative consider putting the autochanger either into the spare wheel well, or mounted to the base of the passenger seat (not the floor - when the seat is moved, it will foul). These are the 2 positions I am considering for the 624 to be fitted into my car in the New Year - I prefer these as neither involves cutting the car in any way (other than a few small holes for mounting brackets)
Hope this helps

The S620 will work on the stock head unit with the relevant adaptor (Audioleads ALP2000 I think) because it use the old Alpine M-Bus technology. The S624 is an AI-net changer and incompatible with the lovely Honda tape deck. (It'll be great with your 7873R though Ian )

I am not sure of the size of the CD changer, but I have my MD changer fitted into the large part of the "secret compartment". I was told that the Honda CD changer will also fit in there, but cannot vouch for that.
I think that it is a great location and keeps more space available in the boot
