I think the points system should be scrapped and replaced with a fine system
The system would be graded so the faster you are over the limit the more your fine would be and the fine would be a proportion of your monthly take home pay
To be honest it's the chance of losing my licence through outright ban or totting up that makes me watch my speed....
As an example if I knew that I could do 150mph and if caught would have to pay 50% of my net monthly take home then I'd take the chance.......I am not prepared to risk being someone's biatch and having to take it up the arse in one of HM's Hostleries

Whatever became of Angle Grinder Man?
There don't seem to be that many destroyed GATSOs any more.
Not ideal, but since it's proven democracy had been abolished in England, what's the alternative?

Nick funny you should mention that, because after reading numerous threads on various forums I'm surprised there isn't an uprising of a GATSO demolition squad.

Pie there is a web site that shows and chronicles the "misfortunes" of Gatso's, petrol in an old tyre seems to be a fave but I can't remember the URL

OK
All this how do I get off the penalty for a crime I have just committed really gets on my t1ts !!
RichUK, good on you take it like a man, you did the crime now pay the time.
OK the rest of you, a mad man wielding an axe kills your nearest and dearest, however because of a technicality that you reported the crime wrongly, took too long to report it, there wasn't adequate signs etc etc etc the mad axe man got away with it scot free, he then goes and does it again to more of your family / close friends, a little different to speeding but again the justice system should not be bound by people getting away with things through loopholes. I don't agree with the get caught 4 times and you are banned for x days etc but that is the ruling and if you get caught then take the punishment !!
