Default Caught Speeding

I got flashed by a camera last Tuesday going into Oxford. I thought the road was a 40 zone, turns out it was a 30 zone. Managed to go through it at 36mph.

So with the flurry of possible get outs and umpteen websites that you can use for this kind of advice, I've decided to simply pay the fine and accept the points.

Why? Well I was speeding, and if I'd known it was a 30 zone (read into this, looked more closely at the road signs) I'd probably have adhered to the speed limit and not been caught.

Anyhow, my licence was feeling lonely having no points on it for so long.

If you want to tow the government line - that's your choice...

But this climate of motorist persecution won't be stopped by rolling over and coughing up!

Get over to www.pepipoo.com and fightback!

the cameras are going up all over at the moment

in recent weeks one has been installed on the A27 eastbound entering Worthing - just after the little chef as the road becomes one lane from d/c and the limit drops to 40

and on the A24 southbound by Old Barn Garden Centre just north of Ashington (there's been two on the northbound stretch for ages now). 60 mph limit there on d/c

this post reminded me to warn people that I saw plod using a white Merc estate to stop people on the A27 Emsworth by-pass

keep 'em peeled

When you've got a clean licence it doesn't really matter does it?

Lets face it, with all the speed camera's at their disposal and all the subterfuge ways in which they try and catch you they still don't very often.. I now have a clean licence and I speed every time I drive my car, i'm sure most of you are the same. I do have a radar/laser detector and without that i'd probably be on 6 points at least, if they ban it i'll still use it. I've never done 159mph though.

The coppers are making bags of money and will keep installing new cameras until forced to stop and that relies on Joe public, if he's happy to keep getting prosecuted in his Mundano TDCi I'm happy to let him....

I'd agree with the don't make it easy for em though.. Smoking kills but you're allowed to do that anywhere you like...

The new points system will be out soon, just to screw us over even further. They are trying to sell it to us by saying that the points are being reduced i.e. 3 to 2 points. But its all BULLSH*T.

Currently doing 36 in a 30 would get you 3 points, under the new system it will get you 4 points. However, doing 32/33 will get you 2 points.

WHAT A SACK OF SH*T.
