Default Cat bypass

There are some available on ebay and I wondered iif they are ok? I have bought a new exhaust from Amber Performance and will most prob buy a sports cat from them eventually but my original exhaust has been a one off and it has been welded onto the cat there is no bolted end on the cat so my new exhaust will not fit. I wanted to fit a by pass for the time being so I can fit the new exhaust.

Any views or advice?

The ones on ebay by 'fastfurious' whatever they are called do not have an anitfouler with them so it will trigger a CEL light.

Either buy a T1r etc etc or this one and fit an Antifouler?

Take it to a good garage and get them to weld on a triangular flange.

Thanks for that where do I buy an "antifouler" or a "T1r" don't quite understand what they are to be honest? What about a sports cat any advice on where to get one that is available off the shelf and is that the best solution?

With either a sports cat or a decatthe higher exhaust gases will trigger the cel. To stopthis you either need a spacer to move the lambda sensor away from the flow of gas or an electronic o2 simulator to stop this if you search eBay for CEL fix you'll get the idea

Hi mate, call me AJ.

An antifouler moves the secondary o2 sensor further upwards (in the same place) basically a little out of the way as there is now 'kinda' more exhaust gas passing by - it then reads the correct O2 data for a the secondary CAT.

Have a search for Antifouler on here and on the FS thread (think there was one for sale ages ago), dont bother with these o2 simultors there more expensive and more hassel hence than the above mechanical fix IMO - I've ran these on 2 car's I've owned with no problem including my S for nearly 4 years.

T1R is a brand of decat as well as Invidia etc these usually come with a fix built in these are usually from the states though. GTS chris in the UK sells them here http://www.gtschris.com/store/comersus_vie...p?idProduct=136 - I have one of these though seems there a bit more expensive now but Berks is relatively good quality, they have an inbuilt fix and come with gasket etc - its just a pipe afterall .

Again i think Berks do a sports CAT, a yank did a test on a testpipe (we know them as decat) vs a (BERKs IIRC) sports CAT and the decat yielded slightly more power - if its to be believed which i cant see why not - decat = hassel time for MOT but its only once a year and its DIY - i have decat as i wanted the most power N/A wise.

Was a one off custom made system done when the car was in Cyprus the guy I got the car off was stationed over there in the army. I have already posted a thread asking if anyone knew what exhaust it was.

https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.ph...pic=751769&hl=

The exhaust is a very nice job in truth (pictures on the thread) but to boomy for me especially around 75 MPH the drone is awful!

Got the decat from Chris (GTSchris) used Paypal no charges and he sent it today say no more eh!
