1. make sure you can get under the car to the sump nut
2. put a big tray under the sump
3. take off the nut
4. take out the dip stick, take off 710 cap
5. wait till it's stopped pouring out.
6. take off old filter
7. put on new filter (oiling the seal before tightening, tightening to contact + 1 turn)
8. put sump nut back in.
9. pour in new oil
10. replace dip stick and 710 cap.

..... hmmmm.... might take it to the garage.. thanks for you help :-)

I am not very good, I dont even know where the sump nut is !

I run it before to help drain the all the oil (makes it thinner )
tightening new oil filter shold not be done by hand, follow the instructions ON the filter!

Can you suggest a good top up oil i can use until I can get it too a garage ?

castrol edge 0-40 or use a 10-30 if its manufacturers oil still in there

I have been using castrol edge fully synth for about a year now, i use 5w30. I found out of all the oils, mobil1, shell helix, motul, Castrol is the quietest and uses the least amount.

Quite expensive though
