Ah, OK - I stand corrected about the C4S. You live and learn

I like the new one where they are getting rid of the boxter type lights and going back to bulging arches and smaller head lights, I love the 1996 shape ones (dont know what they are called)

Here, here.

It's the 993 S4 for me (in my dreams) . The 996 IMO is too elongated and too much of a GT looking car for me, I preferred it when it was a little more squat and more flared, it looked menacing then.

Some of the comments above are a little like saying " I don't like brussel sprouts" when in fact you've never eaten them. I owned an S2000 and it was awesome but until I had driven my 996 GT3 I knew nothing about performance cars.

C4S offers all of the attributes i.e. Big brakes, wide track, big wheels etc of a Turbo without the complexity, running costs, insurance etc of a Turbo 4.

Education:-

996 C2 4.6 ish to 62 174MPH--Narrow body 2wd. Much faster than a Boxster.
996 C4 a little slower--Narrow body 4wd. Still faster than a Boxster
996 C4S a little slower again--Wide body 4wd. Still faster than a Boxster
996 Turbo 4.5 ish to 62 192 MPH--Wide body 4wd. Speaks for itself
996 GT3 4.5 ish to 62 190 MPH --Narrow body race homologation special. Nat Asp.--Narrow body 2wd. Mega
996 GT2 4.4 ish to 62 192 MPH--Wide body race homologation special. Turbo 2wd. Mega +
996 GT3RS 4.4 ish to 62 192MPH--Narrow body ALMS homologation special. Nat asp 2wd. Mega +++

I see a few 996 soft tops around town and I agree, they just don't look right - but then I'm not a fan of the 996 styling compared to the 993 anyway
