Carrera 4 Kill !!!
#31
I couldn't give flying f**k about about 0-60 times - even less about 911s or M3s.
The S for me is about getting into the VTEC zone in second, third and fourth - I don't give a toss if the 911 or M3 can out-gun me, cos' I'm having fun. I'm not on a power-kick or wanting to score points in some bar-stool-bore competition.
Seems to me if all one is interested in is having better performance figures, it would be more honest just to have surgery, get one's cock enlarged and be done with it!!!

I'm lucky enough to have both a new S2000 and a 1995 model 993 Carrera (2), 272hp.
Quick though the S2K is, it's noticably, but not that much, slower than the Porka.
Remember the S2K is no lightweight at 1260kgs compared to the 993's 1365kgs so the power to weight ratio is similar. The 993 model C4 doesn't weigh too much more than a C2 as it had a completely differant lightweight 4wd system (similar to Subaru's) to the previous 964C4, and the power split of upto 90% to the rear, is such that it'll launch at least as well as a C2.
They're not soo differant in their power delivery either (although the S2K revs at least 2000rpm higher) as the 993 only comes "on cam" at just over 4K in the same way as the S2 does at just over 6K.
Below 4k the 993 is tractable but a bit lazy in a big capacity sort of way, beyond this it explodes to the 6700rpm limiter. The S2K actually has a more linear power delivery and with it's huge rev range sometimes you don't seem to have to change gear for ages on the twisties?
Two great cars, I count myself as VERY lucky.
