Default Carbotech Brake Pads

Hi Everyone

I have just fitted a set of Carbotech XP8 carbon brake pads on my S2000 they not the cheapest at £204 delivered, at first I was 50/50 weather to order them or not but then I was sold by my cousin who had them on a DC5.

And the result is fantastic the brake pads are amazing feels like I have got 4 pot calipers there is no brake fade and the harder you put your foot down the quicker you stop.

I was wondering if anyone else have tried these brake pads out? as I truly recommend it

markforrester has some of these (if you'd have searched, you'd have found this out), and they are very popular in the USA. Apparently, they can squeal quite a bit and produce a lot of dust, which are the only downsides.

Having said that, OEM pads also do this:
the harder you put your foot down the quicker you stop.

I've used the XP10s (which are the next ones up from the XP8), amazing pads and top service every time from Ian at carbotech.

Some do find them noisy but personally I haven't had any issues when running with decent discs.

That's not a bad price - about the same as a set of DS2500 and not much more than Yellowstuff.

If you don't mind me asking, where did you get them from? I wouldn't mind trying them.

Carbotech direct when I enquired about them in the past.

I run DS3000's on my track car and they are brilliant - have toyed with the idea of carbontechs but at almost twice the price of DS3000's its hard to justify.

Contact Ian:

They have great bite from cold so would also be ideal for sprints.

They are worth every penny.

And they last so long, and are so kind on discs, that they tend to work out far cheaper in the long term than you'd expect - the set of XP8's on the front of the buggy alone have saved us about £400 in pads and discs - they're still going strong - and work better than anything else did too.

DS2500 and Yellowstuff aren't even in the same league tbh.
