I'd go for 6 months and then add 12 in Jan. That way you'll benefit from the lower tax rate for 9 months when the tax hike hits next march. If it's not a daily driver you could declare the car SORN in Jan, claim a refund and tax it the month prior to the increase and get 11 months at the lower rate...
Cheers s2ook/fellas, this is what I was looking for.

I'm not tight, just want to avoid that bastitch Brown getting too much of my dosh

I'll do the 6 months thing then a funky thing with SORN

I was thinking of doing something similar but Brown is a spawny git and I calculated that if I did 6 months now and then 12 months there onwards, I'd end up paying 50p MORE until July 2011 which is far as I can calculate with the current rates So 12 months it is from the end of the month and see what happens with the retrospective thing...

Edit: not taking SORNing into account of course

[QUOTE=Riccardo,Jul 10 2008, 09:13 AM] Can anyone clarify the tax situation on 2002 registered S2ks for me?

I am about to buy an S2k and picking it up on Friday. It will need new tax in one month. Am I right that it will cost
