Car Tax!!!!
What do people think about the new car tax rules?
You have to fill in forms on log book when you sell it or you are still liable for tax, fines etc....
Government seem to be trying to crucify the motorist everyway they can! Speed cameras for example!!!

About time too!!, I beleive for some time now the person selling the car has had to declare that the vehicle has been sold and who it has been sold to, if you sell your car and do not inform the DVLA then you should be liable for any TAX/fines. (my personal opinion)

Can't see the problem myself.
Anything that will help to get uninsured and dangerous cars off the road is fine by me.
What the authorities really need to do is start clamping cars. Follow that up with putting the car in storage until ownership is established.
Give it a month then crush it.
I like this logic:
the car has been nabbed by a camera/ticketed for some other offence
the fine is sent to you
you deny ownership because you say you sold it
if you can't prove you sold the car you still pay
if you can - no problem
and the car, when next spotted, is immobilised
it's crushed if the 'new owner' doesn't exist

IMO this is a good exercise. It would mean that the DVLA and Councils would know who to contact when cars are left abandoned etc. I once made a mistake of selling the car and the new owner told me he would send all the form off and that I shouldn't go to the trouble. I believed him and let the car go. 8 months later I received a letter from the police that the car had been involved in a hit and run and only then I found out that the new owner had not registered the car in his name and I didn't have his details to pass on to the police. You live and learn.

I agree with Lloyd - this is just another example of a prescriptive government creating red tape to tie up its honest and law abiding citizens, and make them pay more (top point on their biz plan I'll bet!), whilst doing nothing about the blatant abusers.
How many gipsies have you seen in a taxed car, never mind a registered one? They won't get a reminder to re-tax and an

Make the most of it while you can!
One day cars like the S2000 may not be allowed on the road!
- CC limit
- Emissions
- Max HP
- Speed Limits
- Insurance costs
- Fuel costs
Imagine travelling in a Sinclair C5 down the M1 & been blown a way by an eco-warrier on a push bike!!!
Or the micro-chip in your brain gives you an electric shock because the GPS unit says you are exceeding the speed limit!!!!!
