Default Car Starting Problem

I am quite concerened about my car starting problem.

I replaced the battery this morning with a new one and I still cant start the car.

The starter motor sounds good (not weak). Its just the engine doesnt catch.

Not had any problems like this before.

Any thoughts as search function wasnt conclusive?

Cheers.

Well I have lots of fuel in the tank.

It just gets to the point where it should spark but doesnt. (car has had it 54k service with new platinum spark plugs 3 weeks ago). As mentioned the starter motor itself seems strong. I dont get a green light anymore. When the problem first happened I did for the first couple of times.

Dont know how to tell if its an immboliser fault.

Just been out to check the main fuse box and all main fuses are ok.

The one you get when you need to press the button on the key fob if you leave it a while before starting.

Any spare spark plugs to stick in the end of a lead onto the engine to see if it sparks as you crank it over? any plug will do!
