Default Car making a weird noise when parking up

For the last month or so, when I stop and get out the car, I can hear the car making a sort of moo noise, sounds really weird I know! Starts off constant, then a minute later it's intermittent, then stops after 3 or 4 minutes.

My mate noticed it last night and suggested removing the fuel filler cap which I did. This instantly stopped the noise. A lot of air rushes out despite the tank being 3/4 full, much more than normal.

Is this anything to worry about? Do I have a blocked breather pipe or something?

Bovine tank disorder is very common Seriously though, the tank is meant to be pressurised so make sure you do your cap up nice 'n' tight and hopefully the cow will be set free !

I bought my S from Edinburgh, so naturally assumed this sound was it was attempting to play the bagpipes

Perhaps your car also from 'Gods Country' OP?

Thanks for the replies, the serious and not so serious

I'll make sure the cap is tight next time I fill up.

It's nothing to do with the cap.

Here is an excellent post from 2005 explaining it! https://www.s2ki.com/s2000/topic/321...st__p__6219219
