Car cutting out
This is really stressing me out.
I have had the car over a year now, and since day one, the idle has been a little sticky, think its the butterfly sticking. sprayed this with carb cleaner a couple of times and prob goes away and comes back.
Anyway, a new idle problem has occured. now when i go to stop at lights the car will just completly die, doesnt like staying around 1000rpm idle (or whatever it should be). sometimes i'll stop and it'll stay at 2000rom because of the sticky idle, but usually i blip it and it'll go down, but now i blip it and the car cuts out.
Happened to me loads of times today in a very short journey. its really stressing me out!
Any idea's what it could be? i had the problem on a KA and i soaked the ICV in carb cleaner and it did the trick. but i dont want to take it off the honda incase i break it, when trying to take it out, not sure how to.

I had the same problem where the throttle just had a mind of its own.
However i never had it cut out
I used carb/intake cleaner and cleaned up the throttle body it seemed to do the trick

Try and clean your PCV valve,(the rear pipe from the head to the throttle body) this should be done on a service but i'm not sure Honda bother!!!
Also check your Vac lines.

Could be lots of things this one!
Air leaks is one - has anything fallen off or perished on the vac side?
A duff lambda can cause this, and it will also cause hesitation / poor throttle response. It will be fine on VTEC though. They don't always give a CEL contrary to what people will tell you.
Same with the MAP.
TPS can also do it if it doens't know when its at rest!
Have you tried an ECU reset?

Could also be a slack throttle cable?
There should be 1/4 - 1/2" play downwards if you push it, any more and you'll have a nasty lumpy idle which may contribute to cutting out.
