car back after blown engine replaced- not happy

Actually, HUK are quite correct.
In line with Donoghue v Stevenson, you sue the dealer, the dealer then sues HUK. You cannot go direct.
As I understand, Honda has never supplied complete exchange engines. In the past, one had to build the whole thing out of parts!
I hope that Klattering Honda manage to re-assemble your car successfully this time!

yes, honda did indeed supply the engine as a seperate head and block. however in this case honda uk are directly involved as they have supplied a defective part to the dealer who in turn has fitted it to my car. How this affects my legal rights i do not know, but it does tie them into the problem with car somewhat.

just had a phone call from the garage. my car is now ready at long last.
fingers crossed it will be ok when i collect it.
plus i have been offered a free service as compensation. what with the 2 free services i was given when i bought the car i seem to be acquiring services faster than i am having them done. i'm now 3 services in credit!

There is indeed a running in compound in the oil of new cars, widely thought to be molybdenum (sp) though as far as I'm aware, Honda have never disclosed what it is.
