Does sound right. Clockwise as you look at it.

Come to think of it, when I first did mine I had to use a breaker bar. I just about managed to get enough room with it pointing under the car. That gave me about 2 inches of movement, which was enough.

Of course if you can get the car up higher it's going to be easy. Know any friendly garages?

good news... the extra leverage i got from turning the wheel gave me enough tourque to get them out easily. Now i just cant get the bloody disk off. its not budging either.

And i thought this was going to be a 1 hour job!!!
Good news. The disc should free up after a couple of hammer blows to the surface.

Hit it with a mallet. If that fails, there's should be some extra threaded holes in the disk that you can fit a bolt into and then push the disk off the hub. If you can find a bolt.

Isn't it the same thread as the retaining screws ?

Pass. Never had to try. I'm not sure the retaining screws would be long enough.

Thanks everyone for all the help. First disc and set of pads changed. Good job all round. Now on to the others.

What i will do is take some pics as i do the other side. One thing i found lacking in the faq for a newbie was pictures as well as the description.
