Default Cant believe how squeak my HT has suddenly become!

I took my HT off the other day, refitted it, as per the instruction manual, - ie drop it on and do up the four clips (!), - and ever since it's so noisy & squeaky it sounds like it's not even fitted properly.

Before taking it off and on again it was perfect, - didnt hear a dicky bird.

Most of the noise seems to be coming from the front catches, - is it just a case of just greasing them up?

I'm surprised that just taking it off and on again has had such an effect??

Did you secure the fronts first?
Try a bit of tubing over the hooks on the catches - that'll quiet it.

Bit of silicone grease around all the seals has stopped the dreadful squeaking. And a couple of cotton-wool type pads (little tiny squares cut out from dressing out of a 1st aid box) inbetween the hooks & the striker plates has stopped the rattling.

My car is so much quieter now, sounds and feels as tight as a drum

All I get now is the occasional tent-pole rattle from the pram, but hardly anything, - and the odd little squeak from my head rest touching the headrest anti-roll bar thing behind...

I had some self amalgamating rubber tape in the box, a couple turns of that works really well and you dont even see it.

Rub silicone grease into the seals before fitting.
I noticed a lot of salt around my seals when removing last month.
If I dropped it back on Im sure it would have done the same as a result.

Ah, you mean for behind the headrest to stop the squeaking?
