Can anyone diagnose my problem?

but only if the car makes this noise when hot. If it does it when its stone cold too then its most likely something that someone else has already said. If you want to borrow a TCT to give it a try then PM me. I'll lend you my spare one but it will be on a deposit basis so if it doesn't get returned I'm not out of pocket.

People of the internet,
Long time reader, first time poster! (be gentle)
I'm sincerely hopping that one of you can watch the video below and help diagnose the problem with my engine.
I've got it in to my trusty garage but none of the guys there are Honda specialists or have ever worked on a S2000 before so they're having trouble identifying the problem and are actually refusing to take the engine apart to find out. I've looked online at various youtube videos but I struggle to tell the difference between the TCT noise and rod knock and can't decide which mine sounds more like. If anyone, anywhere could help I thought you guys could. The cars done 110k miles if that helps, no oil leaks that I've ever noticed, never over heated.
Any help at all would be very much appreciated. Thanks in advance,
Jon
(please excuse the rocker cover and general state of the engine bay, its not in its usual condition)

Its too loud to be TCT. Oh and dont stand in front of the engine revving it because if it does blow your gonna end up with a lump of engine in your face.
Just out of interest when did the noise start and was it after low oil or alot of high revs and abuse?
Does sound like big ends are gonners

Sounds like a small end on my machine, but the net effect is the same.

That does sound terminal speaking from experience that's exactly what mine sounded like but a lot worse!
Cheaper in the long run to get a new lump, try and get an 04-05 engine, lots of components were revised in the engine.

Thanks for all the help guys! Looks like I'll be keeping it wrapped up for a while until I can afford a new engine.
Floppy, it makes the noise when stone cold so I think the guys are right assuming its something more serious, unfortunately.
Again, thanks for the help/advice. I'll keep you posted with what i decide to do.
