Default Camera mounts

Hi all, I've got a Modifry camera mount fitted to my car. This one to be exact -

http://www.modifry.com/products/moun...windscreen.htm

The fit was good and it was simple to install. I recently took the car on track and used the mount to video everything. Imagine my dissapointment when I got home to watch the video and all I saw was footage so shakey it made me feel sick ! The camera has a steadyshot feature but the mount was so shakey it couldn't cope. Has anyone else had this problem ?
The issue seems to be that the panel the mount attaches to moves, rather than the mount. I've checked to see that everything is tight and even tried stiffening the panel with bits of folded up cardboard ! The latter made it worse however !

Any advice on how to solve this - or any ideas as to a better mount ?

Thanks

I have one that sticks to the windscreen and works well, I got it from fastfilms.co.uk - there is an S2kuk discount I believe.

I have the same mount and the same problem (maybe more so as it was a HD camcorder I had on mine)
It is not the mount but the secret compartent cover which is moving around.
I've not applied any effort to solving it but a quick look suggested some way of pushing the lid up so it closed "tighter" would make a difference!
I'm going to try some stick on anti vibration feet I have for my AV stuff.
Will keep you posted!

I see he now does a lower profile mount to avoid getting just a shoot of the mirror

Looking at the design, I expect that the mount would shake less with the roof up. It also helps if you have a camera with image stabilisation.

I bought the camera mainly for use in the car so being light was important, as was image stabilization. This is the one I have -

I did notice the shorter mount too Mikey, I'm wondering if that may help reduce the shaking to a certain extent ? My best engineered cardboard ( ) was placed at the sides of the compartment lid rather than under it to tighten the latch. I'm thinking your idea may be better, I'll try it tomorrow and let you know.

I've seen a few windscreen mounts, but was wondering as to how much of the drivers view is obscured by it, considering the S2000 has quite a small screen in the first place ! Is this a problem ?

Nice camera but take a look at a dog cam. I think a few people on here use them, esp if you only want it for in car.

See here http://www.fastfilms.co.uk/camera-suction-mounts.php

I have the Quad Sucker Windscreen Mount and using it is no worse than using a sat nav, particularly if it's placed on the passenger side a bit.

Here's all my in-car vids so you can see the results. Just remember to clean the windscreen http://uk.youtube.com/results?search_query...arch_type=&aq=f

I have the shorter mount and use a little bullet cam from Oregon Scientific (ATC2000) and get a pretty good result. Dont think the cam has any image stabilisation but it is small and light which should work in its favour. The results are hardly professional but good enough to watch without being sick!!
