Looking at the video and the photo it is the 16:9 aspect ratio that makes the difference, 4:3 just didn't work.

Thats with the modifry low profile mount and the camera set to a 90degree field of view, it can do wider but you end up with a fish eye effect on the edges.

Oh and in terms of vibrations the best way to solve that is to use some draught excluder foam on the glovebox and the secret compartment. You want to apply it enough so that to get them to lock in place you have to apply abit of pressure. That way they wont shake or resonate when you are driving. If you dont do this then you will find that the camera microphone will pick up every slight movement.

A wide angle lens certainly helps, but low level > high level.

I have this type and apart from some vibration it's excellent.

As previously stated the 'secret compartment' lid can be packed up to reduce the vibration.

Word of warning though, if you sell or trade the car don't forget to remove the base-plate.....

I use the low level modifry mount with a snap mount to hold my iphone4s, works a treat

IIRC some owners had the issue of the modifry base plate scratches the lid of the secret compartment?

Not on mine. Can always put some thin pad underneath but you might get more movement.

Liking the idea of a more DIY mount. Anyone have any ideas of how to mount a Samsung Galaxy S2 to one of these. I would mainly want it for track use and so it would need to be fixed as suction mounts are not allowed.
