Default Cam Cover

Rather than have a wasted trip to my local dealership where the dimwit at the parts counter will tell me "Sorry sir it is not a stocked item", can anyone help with the paint code or the Honda part number for the cam cover?

Also it would be handy to know if it is supplied as a touch up pot too.

Thanks in anticipation.

I don't think you can get hold of the paint from anywhere.

You can either powdercoat or polish them ....

You'll not get the paint code or touchup from Honda.

However, it is possible to get the cam cover refurbished to look like the OEM red crinkle finish if you know the right people.

Chris.

PS the part number is 12310-PCX-010 for your car's model year.

Chris,

Perhaps I'm a bit slow on the uptake here, but first you are saying that I could get the Cam Cover refinished as OEM if I knew the right people (Which I don't) but then you give a part number for the paint?

I'm confused.

VHT do a wrinkle finish spray can in red. You need to bake it to get the wrinkles, but a rocker cover is small enough to go in the cooker

I suspect the part number is for the entire cam cover.

Correct, in the OPs original post s/he asks "or the Honda part number for the cam cover?"

Chris.

No problem.

The paint is not available from Honda.

I have a friend in the powder coating business who can replicate the OEM Honda red crackle finish. You can PM me for his contact details if you like, but it is probably just as cheap buying a second hand cover from a breaker/E-bay.

Chris.
