Bye Bye S2000 HF, Hello S200 OHF
#34
I've been running with an oddly spaced number for almost 2 and half years and so far there's been no interest from the boys in blue.
I also have a dark-olive skin complexion, a goatee and a crocheted, brimless hat.

They can confiscate the plate and give you back a normal one.
I think that's on the third caution.
IIRC they can take you to court to do this.

I know when I purchased mine on the phone with DVLA I got quizzed continually about why I was picking that particular plate and was I trying to spell something with it etc etc etc.

It's acknowledged that the law is an ass.
The current law is clear about letter spacing.
We know that sometimes Plod have nothing better to do.
If you're sad enough to have the need to faff about with the spacing and knowingly run the risk of being caught then don't whinge when you get stopped and susequently booked.
It might seem to be clever or brave to challenge such stupid laws, and weak to appear to just roll over and accept such matters, but in the end it is you that will lose out. And then who looks stupid?
That's life in this poxy country - get used to it and learn to tolerate adapt and cope with it.

What gets me more is the fact that I know at the local police station (Ladgate Lane) there is a Yellow S2000 parked there most days with the exact spacing as mine S2000 (see below). I wonder if they get pulled and a fixed penalty???... I doubt it!
Does this car belong to anybody on here?
I got pulled for mine recently, correctly spaced, but the characters slightly too small FFS!

to be controversial, its illegal, they tugged you for it. As for the "have they nothing better to do?" comments, well, the law is clearly stated about number plates. When you buy a private number from the DVLA it even tells you exactly what you must and must not do.
If you do it and get away with it then fair play to you but its a crime and I know of one or two very good reasons why it should be enforced.
Admittedly the s2000 type plates are not that bad, its the pricks that use misplaced screw heads to make different letters that should be targetted the most.
