I don't think they do much to the cars except bring them in and ship them out. If it's convenience and a wide choice it's a good place to go, you just need to have your eyes open.
But if you knew you had a good solid car, why would you take it to a dealer for an a55 raping on trade in, when you'd get 15% more selling private?
Just a thought perhaps?

Ease of transaction and needed a quick sale in the case of both my S2000's.
And it would go towards explaining why there seems to be a 50/50 split on good/bad.

In that case you would never buy from a trader?

My car was red line on the petrol... and has been on every car I've bought and sold. I think they're only allowed a certain amount in each car on the premesis for insurance reasons.
As for warranties... I would say all non OEM warranties are generally worthless - always consider your purchase as though there wasn't a warranty unless it's from a Honda dealer.

In the interest of an unbalaned thread, here's a PM I've received from www.s2000-4u.co.uk
"Ref your comments on s2ki I can only presume that you are writing reference my company Sports & Prestige (S2000-4U).
I can only further assume you are relating to a black s2000 we recently sold. May I respectively remind you that the vehicle left our premises some 7 days earlier perfectly ok with no squeaks or rattles or noises from the engine? The knocking occurred some 7 days after collection. The current owner took the vehicle to their local Honda dealer, clearly the garage you are mentioning (where it seized). The garage in question stated the car had no oil, but the customer had checked the oil regularly that week on our instructions and we believe the owner. I don

sean ,when i phoned you about a high speed noise and the fact there were bolts missing from the gearbox your pathetic answer was that i must have done this by driving too fast !!!!! i mean FFS how do bolts fall out at speed
if you had said "i'm so sorry that you are experencing problems, let me get onto the Garage that fitted the clutch the month before" it would have been a different story
in my mind you dont give a F*** once you have the money
it was 2 years ago now but i wont forget it
