Have posted my experience here already about the fact they ripped me off with my tyres, sold with fresh MOT and Illegal tyres! But was recounting this story to a neighbour who purchased an SLK from them and they did the same thing to him.

If you must buy from these guys, double check the tyres before you drive away.

sounds like they have one decent set of tyres they put on cars for sales, and then make a bot of extra cash by not having to pay tyre disposal by putting on a knackered pair.

plus they keep the decent ones to stick on something else.

i'm amazed they are still trading

Anyone ever thought of a S2K gathering/meet down there? Might be kind of fun... I'll bring the pitchforks.

Thought I would add my experience with S2000-FU as well. Very briefly, 3 years ago I put down £200 on a BB 03. Later on that day, a dealer offered me a BB 04 that was cheaper and lower mileage. So I called Dominc to ask for my deposit back, he said no. After a few heated exchanges over the phone, he offered me another car of similar spec to the dealer and similar price. By that time I was pretty fed up with talking to him as he was very rude and told him to keep my £200.

It was 3 years ago, and I didn't want to go through the stress for only £200. At the time, I remember Dominic saying he would sue me for cancelling the contract to buy the car and that he had a legal department that delt with people like me. It felt like he really piling on the pressure for me to continue with the sale, but in the I told him to keep my deposit. I think he used my £200 to fill up his Aston DB9 at the Shell down the road where everyone goes for test drives.

As far as I'm aware, the purpose of a deposit is to secure a purchase, with the balance due in full when you collect the vehicle.

I would never expect to receive a refund of a deposit, unless the dealer was unable to go through with the original sale.

Much as I dislike S2K4U the deposit is there for a reason.

You should be able to get a refund is if the car is not as described - not if you find a better deal.
