I hope the business can take the comments on here in the way they're intended, as customer experiences.

I manage a business, and I'd personally be seriously looking at things if I had this much feedback.

I think you were just being polite towards them after feeling like you may have slagged them off a little.... I wouldn't worry!

I think they just target the people who want a "reliable fast convertible car and that live nearby and see the cars on the forecourt", who would never dream of looking on a forum. As opposed to the specific car enthusiasts who always look on forums for their next purchase. They'll be plenty of people out there who will believe they are the S2000 gods who know everything just because of their name.

When I was looking they were my first port of call.
Who better than an S2K specialist to purchase my first S2K from.
Of course, all the cheaper, reliable, great bargain cars had been sold, but they had plenty in stock for a few K more.
They suggested I go down there as they was bound to be something I liked…
I think they even offered me credit, but may be mistaken.

They might be a 'used car dealership specialising in S2000', but it's the first three words of that statement that are important.

Thing is...they haven't.

If they got off their high horses, and altered the way they do business, orientating it more towards satisfying customers, rather than just getting them in/out quickly, they could make SOOOO much more money, by providing a good customer experience.

Think about it. If they had a good relationship with this forum, then we could recommend potential owners to them, meaning that there would be even more demand for their vehicles.

I don't believe that this will happen though...not even the slightest chance

thats the thing about naming your garage after a car, especially one with a very large forum attatched to it. make sit very easy to find feedback. i would have loved it if they were a decent specialist garage who worked with the forum.

but i just don't feel confident going there, we had similiar issues with them over on the 350z-uk club. basic gist of them on there was stay well clear.

good reputations take years to build but seconds to loose.

seems they've spent years building a bad reputation and it will take them years to loose it.

A google search or look on ebay gives the impression that these guys are experts.

That even seems to be the opinion of Honda dealers too - I went to my local Honda dealer with a reasonable budget to buy a 2006-2007 S2000 and they said I should go to S2000-4U as 'they buy up all the best S2000s'.

Luckily I didn't experience quite as much trouble as other members appear to have suffered and I am very happy with my car, but I'm still puzzled to this day about the Honda dealer - he even sat with me for 20mins discussing S2000s and browsing the S2000-4U website telling me what to look out for and how to tell the difference between the pre-04 and 04+ models!

I can sum these cowboys up very simply, I bought my first car from them roughly 2 years ago. I didnt do my research (this forum) and thought they were very genuine. Paid a deposit over the phone and went to buy it a few days later.

The car looked perfect, paid my 10k on my card and drove off, under 10 miles into my journey home I fished tailed along a the D road at speed wondering wtf was happening with a huge plume of smoke behind me. got it safely to the side of the road and found that the oil filter was loose and it spilled all its oil.

Called them to collect me and Paul came with a filter and some oil and limped it back to the garage. hindsight tells me I should have cancelled the payment there and then but they assured me it would be ok. after around 3-4 hours cleaning the engine they were closing and sent me on my way.

exactly one week later the engine developed a deep knocking noise so I called up and they said it would be best to send it to Stoke Honda for inspection. A couple of hours later Honda called to say it had siezed on them. It was obvious to me at this point that as the engine had spilled all its oil the bearings on the bottom end had been damaged.

Frustrated I called Dominic rather upset and he stated that they couldnt collect the car and I would have to arrange for it to be sent to them to be fixed myself. I have numrous emails of empty promises stating that I could have a courtesy car in the meantime and when I eventually got the chance to get one I had to travel to them to collect it, I had no car to drive!!!

The salesman Paul was my contact, week after week I was told it was going to be ready then one day he said it would be ready at the weekend, when I phoned on Friday I spoke to Dominic and he said Paul went on holiday and the car hadnt even been striped yet. this was roughly 2 months after dropping it off!!!!

Then a few weeks later Dom called to say that the car had been damaged at the garage and required to be painted as a number of the panels had been damaged. All this time I had been liaising with trading standards and they instructed me to reject the car under a sales agreement act.

My letters went un noticed withfurther excuses, Dom simply said that they didnt have the money to refund me and my only choice was to accept another car. I eventually spoke to Sean and I said I would contribute to a newer spec car as they couldnt source another black one for me.

I travelled down on two suprise visits to see what the f ook was going on and they tried to palm me off. Then I got the usual tripe off sean saying he only got the cars for them and wasnt involved any more.

Lawdata were also involved (my solicitor said he isnt even a proper solicitor!?!?) One leter stated that I needed to allow them more time to source me a black one but that never happend. Then when I called lawdata (Dave i think) he even agreed with me and said he advised them to refund me!

I have numerous BS emails from Dom and Sean and letters from lawdata and trading standards but at the end of the day I simply wasnt going to get a refund, when I decided I would pay for a GT spec they had dropped their prices and Sean said tht I couldnt have it t the displayed price as I would have been taking advantage (ME TAKING ADVANTAGE!!! YOU @~@~@~@@~ MORON!!)

dom said I had to meet in the middle and pay over the advertised price, I personally couldnt take any more stress and agreed only because my solicitor advised if they went bust I would be left with nothing and a bill from him.

As for the new car its been mint bar the alarm failed within a few months but what was the point in calling Dick Turpin sorry Dominic Waterman to get it fixed.

The point of this post is to prove that if you buy a good car from them you will never have to go back and you can say you have had a good experience.

On the flipside, if like me you have a bad experience you will not get any sort of customer care from this mickey mouse business, you will just be pushed to one side whilst they con another customer.

Nice as pie when they are taking your money and low down dirty snakes when you need help from them.

If I need to post any of their empty promises on here I have a full timeline of 'con'versations and emails for the worst 6 months plus of my life.
