Actually they're not half leather, but vynil with cloth in the middle. It's definitely a "downside" not having sweaty/freezing cold seats, and not sliding around whilst driving. It's a personal taste thing I know, but it's half the reason I got a JDM.

Another "downside" is not having the headlamp washers. UK owners complain about how they accidentally press the button which squirts water into the cabin. Plus they look ugly.

Then there's the "downside" of an extra 10bhp.

And finally, the last "downside" is the super light 6 spoke BBS forged wheels (not every JDM has those though).

Us JDM owners really are hard done by.

there is no half leather.. it's either full leather or vinyl/synthetic material..

the vinyl is an upside on the track

Guys - again thanks for all the advice!

Are their any insurance implications for an import?

I also read that it is possible to get a Honda warranty if the S2000 has a full Honda service history? I guess this is not possible for an import? In any case is it worthwhile - how much would it cost?

I also could do with advice on the hardtops - are they easy to get second hand? Worthwile in the winter? Do you have to get a specific model for a specific year of car?

Again - thanks for all the invaluable help!

disabling the washer button took upwards of 10 seconds

imho the only issue with a JDM is possible resale issues I dont think they are more to insure - as I looked when I bought mine - if it is its a small difference and one you wouldnt quibble over. Personally I love leather and wouldnt want cloth, but then thats a personal pref. Oh and the rear number plate is ofcourse square!

With 10-12K I'd look at a JDM import with very low miles!
Are there any good recommended importers?

Thx!

As for insurance, I think it is an issue but not a major one assuming you're a grown up anyway. I was on a special import policy with Adrian Flux, but then had to change and start a whole new policy because I needed to add business use (which meant the premium increased by over
