Too many wankers on the road who do not accept responsibility. I had some jerk hit me at a traffic light this afternoon, we turn off into a quiet road to check damage and there is a hairline crack on the bumper and the culprit had the audacity to say it was already there - he has never seen my bumper and I clean my car regularly enough to know if the bumper had been marked. He refused to give insurance details so i went to the police and reported it. I suspect he will tell them a lie knowing what a low-life he is. Guess what it was an Astra driver with reg no. DRG 919S - if you recognise this number let him know he is a tw*t.

Only just saw this Martin, sorry to hear about the damage, hope it gets sorted soon.

From your description sounds like it was the Brig you were going to get fish & chips from. That part of the road can be a nightmare to get out of because it is so busy, so dont know how the other guy thought he could pull out without looking!

Why would not indicating when pulling out from a parking space into the path of an approaching car matter?

If you are parked you should wait for any car that is driving along a road to move before you even think of pulling out. Using you indicators signifies only your intent to perform turn/change lanes etc. not that you are claiming the right to do this... People on the motorways regularly forget this and seem to think "Well, I've indicated so I'll pull out..."

It is plainly the third party's fault based on what we have been told whether or not they indicated.

I hope you get it sorted, Martin, in my experience though it can take some time...

Martin - only just read this thread - feeling gutted for you
I hope everything gets sorted out with the insurance, and fairly soon!
I know it will be small consolation, but with your car being so new I would imagine it would be easier for the bodyshop to get a perfect match paintwise.
