I'm about 20% through MZ's at the rear. They look in good shape. They roll flat too when off the power. Must be in the drivetrain somewhere. Diff is also silent. Just applying power is where vibes come in like washer on spindry

Exalto - I have the same problem.

It appears to come in worst while on wide open throttle in 4th.

Starts at about 5000rpm goes away for a bit then comes in again at 7000rpm for about 1000rpm's I'd say.

I can feel it shaking as well as hearing the roof claps shaking.

Just experimented on the way home. Definitely worse around 50-80mph. Then smoothes out again in accordance with increase in speed. I think that's just due to speed/frequency of the shake happening too quick to transmit through.

Vibration also increases as aggression of the acceleration through the gears. It is possible to almost not feel it if I nurse it up to around 4k in any gear.

In all circumstances, if I dip clutch the vibration stops. If I allow engine braking, It also stops.

Yes Martin, when I was under the car yesterday I checked the bolts. Everything is secure. The wheel nuts are also tight.

I'm putting my money on the buckets again.

Not had exactly the same problem, but check the Allen bolts (6 per end) on the propshaft for tightness, and might as well check the driveshaft nuts and bolts too.

Shame we are opposite ends of the country otherwise I'd take a look for ya

Bloody huge sigh of relief.

After being let down by a scrappy who refused to sell some buckets unless I bought the diff ...

"they're part of the diff"
"No they're not."
"The oil will come out."
"No, its sealed."
etc
etc

I rang Rob at Garage R and did a 130 mile round trip to pick up some T1R spacers. Back home, under the car with a strip light, pair of spanners and no clue. Pretended to be in the engine room of a WW2 sub stuck at the bottom of the sea.

Do or die.

Now the car is smooooooth again. Still going to get the buckets swapped over.
