Default Brushless carwashes

Alright, I know I'm lazy, I know it could never be as good as a hand-wash, but...

What are people's views of non-contact, brushless carwashes?

I naturally would never go near a normal carwash with the S, but is there any reason for concern over these brushless washes? Is there any reason to think they might nevertheless damage the car in any way (high pressure jets or something)?

I'll happily admit that I'd love to find a quick and easy way to give the car even a rudimentary wash without spending an hour or two with a bucket and sponge...

Any experiences (good or bad) with these?

I do know that someone on here tried one. I vaguely remember it being Critus based for some reason They posted up some photos of their car covered in a thick foam. Just prior to them rinsing it off.

I would also be interested in something like this, as I much perfer to drive my car than spend my weekends washing (not that I don't respect those that do enjoy a good clean )

this citrus based stuf is very similar to the Viro-sol i use to clean my wheels - or ' traffic film remover ' i think its sold as - it does work and wont harm paint BUT it strips of wax and everything... so i dont know about you but id say that in the long run would do more harm that good... i like a good wash mit and a bucket of hot water - a running tap and 15 mins later its done, also with a drying towel and blade its dry and shinney too

Don't think I have seen any of these units around here, its a smashing idea but is only really possible if the dirt has not bonded to the car. Also what about the drying stage, is all the water blown off?

Thanks guys,

If I may say so, surprised not to hear you dismiss this TM.

I agree it's unlikely to be as effective at washing as with brushes, but we obviously wouldn't consider that at all with our S's so this may be the only option for lazy people!

I'm guessing that the water is either hair-drier'd off or you are left with a wet car to chamois (and polish/wax).

Perhaps I'll run it through once and see what happens...

Will report back.

currently I am developing my own version calling it peerless tango's

Car is pre-washed using a foam lance, the foam being left for five minutes whilst the wheels are sprayed.
This is all pressure washed off and the rinsed using purified water. Finally it is all blow dried.

So far this only works if the car has a good wax to protect and that the rinsing stage uses 0-10 ppm filtered water.
