Default Bronze AP1 early wheels on Indy Yellow car

I've been toying with the idea of different wheels on my Indy Yellow, but to be honest nothings really floating my boat at all. I don't like anything bigger then 17inch, and really I like the more "motorsport" look of smaller wheels such as 16's on the S2k. Would love a set of BBS forged AP1 JDM wheels but can't justify the cost. So, I think I've found the answer after seeing some cars with bronze coloured rims at Japfest (think there was a Civic with some), I really like the colour, especially if satin / matt. Without centre caps also, like below:

So if anyone has any EARLY shape AP1 rims with or without tyres in any condition for a good price, I'm interested! Would do a full refurb myself on them.

I like that

I am toying with the idea of dark bronze and diamond cut on my multispoke 17s.

I think that definitely works.
I think 17"s would look even better though!
Volk CE28's in bronze!

I really like the look of small wheels, might sound strange to a lot of people, but its more of a "purposeful" motorsport look to me. Of course they're lighter, and cheaper tyres too (purely a bonus tbh).

On my last car (Clio 172 Ph2) I went down from 16" oem to 15" Speedline 2118's in black, it looked awesome as they were Clio Cup race car wheels. For me wheels look good if they look purposeful over "bling".

I do think some 17" or 18" wheels do look ok on very tuned S2000's that are near enough race cars, but then I guess that is quite a GT racer sort of look.

Thanks for the input so far guys, I didn't think I was going mad when I thought of the idea. Considered refurbing my current later AP1 wheels with bronze, but I don't think the shape and spoke size etc would go with the overall "look" as well as the early wheels. Also, they don't need a refurb as they're pretty mint, so I think it'd be a waste. Will just keep them to sell with the car sometime in the future.

top photo looks very smart. I love bronze wheels best on yellow, moonrock or black cars.

I'm totally with you on the normal size wheel thing.

I've had cars that have had 18" wheels as standard, but for some reason, the 16" on the S2000 I have look just right, and once refurbed will be spot on.

Maybe I'm getting old? But I like the factory looK! lol

16s can only be pulled off with a thicker tyre and if the car is lowered.
