Bridgestone SO3s
Just been tying to get some replacement front tyres as mine are totally bald around the inner edge now, and been told that Bridgestone are no longer producing the S03s.
RE050s are the replacements, is this what is fitted to newer S2000s?

yes, but you won't get the right ones for a 16" tyre. the S2k RE050 is, like the S02, a bespoke S2000 tyre.
Bridgestone do still make the S2k bespoke S02, but loads of dealers and tyre places are too lazy to find out properly.

Yeah, I know the S02 is still around, but my car has S03s fitted which work well through winter on muddy icy roads, hence my continued reluctance to fit S02s.
It's the S03s that I'm told are now being discontinued. I have the choice of S02s which I'm not that keen on, or RE050s which the tyre places reckon are a straight replacement for S03s. Or something different like Toyos.
But either way I'm stuck running different tyres up front to what I've got on back, until I wear the rears out. Not ideal. Ho hum.

I'm starting to wonder if that's the simplest option too..
Don't really want to, and knowing my luck they'll discontinue them by the time these rears wear out!

Yup, my local place got a decent price for the S02s and even found the right flavour without being prompted. Touble is, I wanted S03s!

I find the tyre situation on the 16s to be a complete PITA
I might even go back to the windowmaker tyres next time round

I know what you mean Tim. I've got a perfectly good set of F1 fronts on and will have to chuck them out when the rears run out.
Luckily my car's not a winter car so it's not the end of the world to run S02s. But I just don't like them, and prefer to lose some grip and some predictability in my handling!
