Default bride seats and airbags

Had a search..

I have bride seats installed. Can anybody tell me the situation on the airbags? Obviously they were connected to my old oem seats. Does this mean I have to do without airbags or is there any way round this?

thanks in advance

I thought the sensor in the seat was just for the seat belt beeper and light on dash?

Yeah I'm pretty sure it's a seat belt sensor
Didn't have any problems changing my seats over though, MY01

I'm not sure this is quite applicable, but when I put buckets in my Rallye, I too unplugged the seatbelt pre-tensioner connector beneath the seat (I assume that is what we're talking about here)- part of the airbag circuit. In the case of that car, with that circuit broken, the airbags no longer functioned.

I have harnesses in that car so not an issue but food for thought perhaps.

Yes this is what I am looking for . Any way to get the airbags functioning?

I believe you can put a resistor (couldn't tell you what OHM-age though) across the connector to fool it into thinking the circuit is unbroken. I never did this so can't give you any more reliable info I'm afraid.
