Braking Problem Diagnosis

Braking Problem Diagnosis
Hi
I am trying to diagnose what could be causing an issue with my car when braking from around 70-80. Once I apply the same constant pressure to the brake pedal the car starts to slow down and then the brakes bite and at that point there is a slight judder at around 50-40. If I stamp on the brakes or brake lightly the judder is not felt.
With my very limited knowledge around cars my first suspicion would be a problem with the discs, they are four years old and have done about 37,000 miles which isn't a great deal but what I don't want to do is spend money replacing parts that don't need replacing. If it was the discs wouldn't I get the same judder at any speed if the problem is a rotational one?
My front pads need replacing very soon, could it be the pads?
Also, I did hit a large pothole a few months ago and I have noticed a slight tyre judder under hard acceleration around 70, if I accelerate normally at around this speed I don't feel anything. Would tyre balancing be the issue when braking?
I am guessing that the first thing to do is probably get the tyres balanced to see if it fixes the acceleration issue and also it might fix the braking issue?
Thanks

Good grief man. 37000 miles on a set of disc's and pads!! They are not expensive from ECP.
Get those changed first - maybe all round would be a good idea. Also a good opportunity to check and regrease the sliding pins.
Then see how you go...
