Hello again, thanks for all the information.

I went to do the pads this weekend after being told by the garage that they were over 75% worn (back in Feb) and they needed changing. Had all the equipment and new pads ready, took the wheels off and checked the pads...

Not even 50% worn so I wont be changing them for now!

Makes me wonder if they did actually check them or not, front pads are hard to see without removing the wheels and im surprised if they would have been able to see them during a standard MOT?

Either way, not pleased.

Shims do not always eliminate squealing IME. I therefore recommend using copper slip regardless.

Oldest one in the book.

Probably the biggest line in scamming customers going.

I had the "disks and pads almost gone sir" 2 days after I fitted new ones!!

Im going to do as much work on the car as I can myself, I dont trust anywhere these days.
