Brake disc dis-colouration
Noticed the other on my left front brake disc that the whole of the disc had turned orange. I thought
Anyway, drove off back home and it had all gone but then half hour later small orange spots started appearing on the disc. Would this be rust or something and should I be worried ?? Drivers side is fine..

Mine does that but only after its been raining. It goes after you have braked a bit on it, but it should not return if it has not got wet I would have thought?

we all see this and within a few miles of leaving home it's all gone.
I had all new discs and pads not long ago and these new ones do it to. It's all fine

As asbestos is no longer allowed in brake pads, manufacturers have had to change the composition of the steel in brake discs. The effect of this is that they rust quicker.
Honda's do seem to produce the surface rust rather quickly though.
It always surpises me, the number of S2000's that have to have their discs replaced at such a young age.
