brake dilemma

brake dilemma
so im heading off sown south for airfield day 2 in early september. i also need new brakes, 1x caliper (sticking) and a fluid change sometime before christmas.
the brake feel in my S is about right according to CG, but im finding it a bit vague and while they do stop the car, they don't inspire confidence.
so, the problem... shall i wait till after the airfield day to change all brakes? the last thing i want todo is have to replace them again since I've cooked 'em at the airfield day.
brakes arent dangerous, but are getting low...

If they are getting low, then get some new pads on before then. I made the mistake of going with not enough pads and ended up driving home with no rear brakes. I also needed new rear discs, so not very economical.
Even if you get some el cheapo BI pads, it's definitely worth it, just make sure they are properly bedded in first.

it's gonna be discs & pads all around, so metal on metal wont add anymore to the bill.
BI will be the way i go reguardless. Bedding in, like you say LG, is something i have my concerns about; will 2 months of city driving be sufficient time to get the discs upto track-grade spec??
edit: thanks loon, +1 for 'change now'

If by airfield day you mean the carlimits day, then you'll probably be fine, I thought you meant an airfield track day.
As for bedding in go and find a dual carriageway with a few roundabouts and get some heat and hard braking into them

yeah, carlimits airfield rather than full-on track day. never been to either so im unsure what to expect, but the last thing i want is to blow ~£200 on brakes and to replace 'em again..

We used to bed the brakes on the rally car by............. find a quiet stretch and apply brakes heavily until you can smell them and they are really hot, pull over and let them cool, repeat twice and then jobs a good un.
