BP Ultimate Fuel
#32
Hi guys
Just tried my first tank and the initial response is actually very good. Much smoother no kagarooing, no lag just responsive.
Seems a bit noisier during VTEC but otherwise very impressed. Will come to heyford with Ultimate so maybe we can try and spot the difference.

Tried this Ultimate stuff yesterday empty tank to start and filled to the half way point. Got scared at the price and 84.9 p/litre!!! SHELL 2 miles away and nearer my house are selling OPTIMAX at 79.9 going up to 80.4 tonight! Anyway ULTIMATE was ok - still kangaroo'd for me in traffic and was louder on VTEC, performance was similar (read un-noticable). I will bow to others as my S is not driven hard and I would not class myself as a driver as such -The forecourt did have some advertising and some leaflet (which I forgot to pick up)

went out and got all excited yesturday when pulling into our local BP petrol station Ultimate diesel (sorry this is Mr V ) posting here picked up a leaflet while i was in there ,here are some following statments from it.
"The new fuels give sharper acceleration, more responsiveness and more miles per tank"
"The acceleration increase is roughly equivalent to haveing the next larger engine size e.g its like upgradeing from a 1.8 to a 2.0 litre engine "
so looks like youve all got a new 2.2 engine
"By useing Ultimate you could get up to 25 more miles from a full tank of fuel"
Not that it helps you all here but i did notice that my diesel seemed alot more responsive in mid range acceleration although wouldnt say it made alot of difference to the engine noise (a claim BP make about the new diesel fuel)

Hi Guys on my third tank of ultimate today.
Seems the same as earlier reports however while trying to outdrag an X5 over Chiswick bridge today I almost scared myself with the pull of my car felt much stronger than before (going uphill as well) could be just a coincidence but thought Id mention it.

I am beginning to think it's not my imagination that mine runs noticeably differerent on Q8 98.......SUL....engines sounds louder and it pulls stronger than using Optimax

Ran the S all weekend on Ultimate and I cannot criticise it in any way, I'm sure someone will get all technical about its pro's and cons but have to admit I still managed to scare the daylights out of my mom as she wanted a ride in the car.
I think I'm going to be happy putting either Ultimate or Opti in. I'll probably go for Opti next to make another comparison.
