Default Bought a decat... looks like a cat?

Hi all,

Bought a decat off ebay a while ago (over christmas I think) and only just got around to looking at it but to me it looks more like a cat? If it's a cat how likely is it to be a sports cat vs direct replacement? If the latter then will happily knock out the internals but if it's potentially a sports cat should maybe think about keeping it as it is?

Just wanted another opinion, any help greatly appreciated.

Cheers,
Alex

I agree, looks like a cheap 'blueprint' type cat.

Even a resonated cat will have no internals.

I also don't see where the secondary O2 sensory screws in? Is it just not in view at the angle you've photographed?

Thought that about the resonated decat as in it wouldn't have the honeycomb setup... Did wonder as a sports cat would be a little easier to see light through (although with this one you can just...) in which case may just hammer the internals out to give me my decat

O2 sensor boss is on the bottom right just after the cat section (sorry bad photo taken quickly as only had a couple of mins)

Cheers

If you do knock the internals out just make sure you wear a mask as the metals are poisonous when inhaled.

No worries cheers Robin.

I'm actually thinking about not using it again now and just getting the uk exhaust mod done. Only bought it to see how it changed the exhaust note on an otherwise pretty standard car (bar k&n). Might drop the guy an email on ebay but not holding breath as was from start of Jan off ebay (unit6spares.harley? seems to sell loads of honda/s2000 bits...) plus only paid £20 + p&p.

Cheers,
Alex
