Default Bootlid spoiler function?

Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone has any info on how the OEM ap1 boot spolier affects the downforce on the S, does it do diddly squat or is it there for a purpose? I read in a Voltex wind tunnel test article that the standard S makes quite drastic lift at 40kmh! It would also be for visual purposes aswell, always thought the bootlid looked like it lacked something! The spoiler i am talking about is the very subtle one that goes above the 3rd brake light and runs the length of the edge of the bootlid.

Thanks!

It helps to close the boot!

It really does! The boot used to just half 'bounce' closed without it!

What they said - just let it go and it closes itself now

It's fine when open but once you move it towards closing, it closes itself - not a problem

I find it handy for lifting the bootlid too.

Good for spiders and such creepy crawlies to shelter in inclement weather.
