Default Boost gauges

Hi

Okay I have a SOS dual gauge pod, one if the pods has an AEM wideband gauge in, the other a Autogauge boost gauge.

Now I know the boost gauge won't register much, unfortunately I've tried 2, one I was given the other I bought.

Neither seem to be setup for psi, so spend most of their life in the vacuum side they just seem to convert bar to psi.

Seems at the highest point/max boost the gauge would register 0.4 ie 7psi of boost, 14psi in 1 bar.

I wouldn't of bothered if I had a single pod nevertheless I think it's usuful for belt slip, I doubt you could hear it or possibly feel it at high revs and also with the noise.

Can anyone recommend any ideally outputting 1,2,3...7 psi.

Thanks

Boost gauge on a SC is pretty pointless AJ.

Personally I wouldn't bother.

Autometer would be my choice if you need one.

AJ i use Prosport premium series gauges. Stepper motor and fully programmable like DEFI but obviously not quite as flash but a lot less money. Boost gauges are psi.

you can program your scan gauge to show boost but it depends on how your control unit handles boost, i have the AEM FIC unit and it clamps the map signal so the scan gauge never gets into positive numbers

for those who have boost gauges fitted, what readings do you get at 3, 6 & 9K, when we talk about 9psi boost is this theoretical or is the SC developing this pressure over the vacuum created by the engine (if that makes sense)ie do you actually see 9psi with WOT at 9K

Get an AEM ECU, and then the 19in1 serial gauge (and then a smaller pulley). You can then display any scale you like, and over any angle.

It's a bit pointless having a boost gauge .. you'll tell when the belt slips.

There will be very few gauges reading less than 1 bar as it's about the average for a turbo (non intercooled cars are usually about .5 bar, Saabs etc.).

I had a similar problem trying to find a good 2 bar gauge for my old MR2.
