They're not to be trusted.

On cold days, the NSX's boot was like putting your head in a lion's mouth. Or a mousetrap.

Fresh ones have it sorted.

The Cupola has them too. But the engine cover has a rod. Maybe I ought to fit that with gas stays? Maybe I should find something more real to worry about?
I remember my CRX VTEC doing something similar, and the glass boot on that was very heavy.

It's an 'onda, other than oil/coolant, there's no need to be poking around under the bonnet on a regular basis
It's the oil filling bit that I like them for. Gives you clearance to get the bottle in there properly.

And there may not be a need to lift the bonnet that often but some of us like to tinker.

(Oh and Mr G is right about the lions mouth. Just done an oil change and it's very windy here so I propped it with something too, just to be safe.)

Since the dealer puts in 0-5 watch oil or something, it disappears very fast.

I have a bespoke Honda funnel (a mineral water bottle with the bottom sliced off) so oil filling isn't as tricky as playing 'Push the Tempo' with a Light Steel Barrel or Non Returnable Drum load of oil.

Why does the wind always scream Mary when you're changing oil? It could be the middle of the doldrums & it would still blow it everywhere.

Dealer uses Castrol 5w40 apparently, so that's fine.

I use a posh Halfords funnel and do top ups in the garage.

Crikey, if I can manage it, anyone can

Not NWHL; they use Castrol rSLX 0-30 stuff. I's like making love in a canoe.

Dropping from above waist height is dreadful violence. Lower and gently push with heel of hand to click. Same with the boot. Don't slam the doors, but pause an inch or so away from closure and gently but firmly close. Sympathy with a perfect design. 完璧なハーモニーで人と車

Wonder what the top of the bonnet would be at when open, looks like it might touch my garage roof like that

Did anyone's kits come with the bolts for the bracket that attach the the bonnet hinges? Reusing the originals is out of the question as the bolt barely threads. Anyone got a recommended bolt length to hand? I'll probably repaint the brackets too as the black stands out too much and I'd prefer to make them look a bit more OEM.
