Bonnet dampers/gas struts..Why hasn't everyone got them?

Sod it ..... bought a set. Was under the bonnet this morning c hecking oil etc and the wind lifted the bonnet off the support stay and cracked me on the head - not the first time but it WILL be the last time

I have had the bonnet dampers for a couple of years.
They give better access to the engine bay.

Everytime I open the bonnot on the missus car I wonder why it doesn't automatically rise.
Need to get a set for her car.

cant say i have any issue at all with the standard stay.
only under the bonnet every 6-8 weeks to dip the oil.

i class the struts as the same as LED lights - i'll buy when i need them, not when i want them.

If you open the bonnet to put petrol in, you probably shouldn't be allowed to drive

Rob2.2 fitted one to mine and BROKE the other one ,still works on one .
