Default BMW roof cleaner and protector - How do I use

Hi,

First time S2000 byer needs help.

I have seen on this and other sites that the BMW soft top cleaner and protector is a good one to use.

Anyhow the BMW shop only had the display bottles left when we were there so we bought them. It was not till later that we realised that the protector had gotten wet at some point and the instructions were fused together. As my lithuanian and Czechoslovakian (the only languages showing) are poor at best we cannot use the product today. BMWshop not open till tomorrow, and salesmen useless.

Does anyone on line today use this product and could they help by letting us know the way to use it.

TIA
Kathryn

If it's the cream cleaner that I used to use then:

rub well into plastic screen avoiding the black hood areas!
wait a coupla minutes.
wipe off, buff till it's clear.

do one side at a time, not both at once as you'll not know when one side if clean.

Many thanks for your reply, but it is the black fabric cleaner and protector that we have not the plastic screen cleaner.

It is the softtop fabic protector that we do not have the instructions for. Sorry for any confusion.

Think the BMW hood treatment recomendation was specifically for the plastic screen treatment but if you still want to use the softop treatment it should work fine.

I don't have the bmw stuff but i'd guess the rules are pretty standard (unless someone else can be more specific) i'd say pick a nice dry day first of all as the products need to be left to dry. Use the cleaner bottle first, test a small area to make sure it doesn't take out any colour. Most recomend that you vacume the roof to make sure there isn't any grit embeded, apply the cleaner and usually rub in with a stiff sponge (or soft toothbrush for any stubborn stains) which the type i buy provides. Then leave to dry. Apply the protectant with the same sponge making sure you get an even coverage and keep it off rubber and glass, wiping off any excess with paper towel before it dries. Once coated leave to dry usually for at least an hour safer with a few.

You could try a z3/4 bmw forum if that doesn't help

I'll get in before the others ...

The S2000 roof is vinyl, NOT fabric.
Sorry
