I raced a modded old style Scoob (no badges on the back) on a dual carriageway and he was all over the back of me and I know he had to back off a couple of times, I couldn't have gone any faster and I actually got the jump on him. We reachy the dizzy speeds of 130 km/h too!
I have driven a Scoob STI (on a track) and it feels considerably faster to me. They are very easy to get off the line and even the standard STI (non PPP) is 3 seconds faster to the ton than the S IIRC.
But, the S is far nicer to drive and way more fun... but I do like the sound of those scoobs....

Viewed VERY dimly. Not a big boys mod that one.
