Default bleeding clutch

so my old master cylinder was leaking and i've bought a new one.
one from a 2005 S to be precise.

swap over was nice n easy but now i've got stuck at bleeding the barsteward!

i've got about 2" of good clutch movement, but the rest is very soft and still has air in it.
i've tried the usual press&release bleed method ( just pump away with nipple loose) and also release nipple-clutch down-tighten nipple-clutch up-repeat.
i've been through about 20-30 clean fluid spurts with no remaining air coming out.

seems i still have air in the system.
is there a nack to bleeding the clutch system when you change parts? maybe the car has to be tilted a specific way to coax the air out?

little help please! S is stuck outside with no clutch right now

more googling found me a solution: jack the back of the car higher than the front.
job done!
