Thanks for the suggestions, but to be honest I was hoping for more bird and cat related puns. S2ki, I am disappoint.

I have not (and wouldn't!) killed the bird but I have managed to convince it that my fiancées Renault Clio is much more enjoyable to cover in poop, so I am happy for now. I like the idea of mirror socks, I'll give that a try overnight

Must admit I was disappointed by the lack of jocularity in this thread.

Given its title I expected to see women draped over bonnets.

It looks like a male blackbird to me, a young and inexperienced one trying to establish and defend its territory. It only has a bird brain so thinks that its reflection is a male usurper. You know what it's like guys, you consider your S to be part of your territory and will repel boarders.

Sock thing is a good idea dennohue. Hope people were only joking about killing poor Blackie.
