How much was it in total (including fluids/filter and spark plugs)?

(and I know you like correct spelling, so it's "independents" )

Or in my case inde-pedant.

Filter and washer £13 (Honda dealer so right one), oil about £31 (Castrol edge TD 5W40) from Halfords 20% off for 4L the rest came from my "topping up stock" Plugs I got from eBay NKG platinum (right ones) last year £28. So £222.85 say £10 for the extra bit of oil £235.85 all in.
Taking into account the MOT was full wack at £54.85 so take that off thats £181 for quite a service, diff would have normally been done on this service, but I did that last year.
I don't think I did that badly, now you could argue that a Honda dealer might not charge for the MOT if you had the service done at the same time but I'm sure it would come to more than £235.85.
And I have the peace of mind that it was done by an S2000 fan and owner. The tech also listed the torques he used on the plugs, sump, filter, wheels etc. and they were all right, he even said "Honda upped the torque for the plugs" if you asked the average Honda tech you would probably get a blank look.

Now the other things my independent won't do is try to tell me they topped up the (full) washer bottle and charge me £2.75 for the privilege, or grease the door hinges or wash the car badly for me, so all in all I’m a happy bunny.

Forgot to add, like Honda I did get a free cup of coffee, and I made one for the guy that did the work for me.

To add to the big up the place is Eyres Garage in Wadebridge, Cornwall. Possibly time to start a "great indepenents" thread to go with the dealer thread.
