Default Best Way to Remove Cat Stud?

As per the title...I managed to snap one of Squeak's cat studs

Has anyone drilled, or punched the remaining stud out before?

Loftust, that is not cool.

Bust out the drill / easy out!

was looking at my cat the other day after I removed it and realised that my decat and HFC had been given back to me without nuts and bolts. I assume you've bust one of the three on the down stream side.

On my cat the studs are splined and seem to be a press fit into the flange, they were also fairly well corroded, odd as the cat has only done two 6 month shifts.

How about a large socket over the head and see if you can use a similar size bolt and a G clamp to press it out.

I thought you were talking about an actual pussy cat at first, must be getting tired, wondered wtf a cat stud was.

they punch out but you need something substantial behind the flange to get them to shift, if you must do it whilst still on the car then you need a 90 degree angle chuck for the drill then drill it out starting with 3mm pilot and work your way up, its quicker to take the cat off

it'll be easier to take the cat off and knock it out with a hammer mate

Cheers for the advice

Looks like the cat will be coming off then

I'd better soak the other nuts in Plus Gas beforehand
